Case Study – Insurance Company Positions for Growth

The Challenge

Faced with increasing transaction volume and complexity, an insurance company wanted to make its monthly back-end processes run more effectively. They had recently outsourced a portion of the process, and needed to upgrade systems, controls and compliance reports to make the process run smoothly from start to finish. Management also needed coordination between all the various departments that participated in the operations. Adding urgency to the situation, the company had a hard date for implementation that could not be missed.

What PCG Did

PCG assumed the role of overall project manager for the engagement. We developed project plans and managed a team of over 30 people in three locations to accomplish the tasks. We developed requirements, managed change requests, and executed a testing plan. We created a new organization to handle the operation, and also implemented controls and balancing procedures.

The Results

The project was completed successfully on time, and the CEO’s expectations were met. The monthly processes balanced at every step in the operations. Data quality improved, and the company was positioned to significantly grow this portion of their business.
